Ho‘opili E-Newsletter – January 2012

With the start of a new year, D.R. Horton – Schuler Division looks back at some of the highlights of 2011.

Hoopili

Aloha and Happy New Year!

2011 was a busy and productive year for us at D.R. Horton – Schuler Homes. In June we re-started the entitlement process for our Ho‘opili project with the state Land Use Commission and will continue with our hearings through the first part of 2012.

We are thankful for the continued support from community residents, construction tradesmen and women, small and large business owners and many others who share our vision to make Ho‘opili a reality for working families.

Wishing you good health, happiness and prosperity in the coming year and always.

With warm aloha,

Cameron Nekota, Vice President

D.R. Horton – Schuler Division

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser publishes a positive editorial article on Ho‘opili

Quote, “…the growth-policy big picture affirms that Ho‘opili is the logical site of new housing needed  over the next two decades, accommodating Oahu’s population growth along the rail line.” (May 19, 2011)

Cameron Nekota writes a compelling commentary for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Island Voices column

“The premise behind the master plan for Ho‘opili is that the built environment — streets, sidewalks, buildings and other infrastructure — can affect human health in positive ways. We believe it is possible to improve public health in Hawaii through conscientious community planning and design.” (May 22, 2011)
