About D.R. Horton-Schuler Division

D.R. Horton-Schuler Division is a kama‘aina company with deep roots in Hawai‘i. Then longtime Kailua resident Jim Schuler started the company in Hawai‘i in 1973 and since then D.R. Horton-Schuler Divison has built nearly 9,000 homes on Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Maui and Hawai‘i.

While some people still refer to the company as Schuler Homes, the company changed its name when it joined D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the United States.

D.R. Horton, Inc., has built more than 100,000 homes in the last two years alone. Founded in 1978 in Fort Worth, Texas, D.R. Horton has expanded its presence to include 82 markets in 27 states in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest and Western regions of the United States. The company is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality homes with sales prices ranging from $90,000 to over one million dollars. D.R. Horton also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through its mortgage subsidiaries.
